Behind the Mask

Praneeth Roy.

Final-year MBBS student at JIPMER with a strong commitment to advancing primary care, inclusion health, and the social determinants of health. Actively preparing for a career as a General Practitioner in the United Kingdom, he brings a robust academic foundation that includes a certification in Drug Use and Harm Reduction from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Beyond his rigorous clinical training, he is a dedicated academic researcher and peer reviewer for high-impact journals such as PLOS ONE, Medical Hypotheses, and the Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR).

In addition to his clinical pursuits, Praneeth is a driven innovator at the intersection of digital health, artificial intelligence, and community-based care. He is the architect behind “Project Open Kettle,” a digital ethnography initiative designed to map non-clinical health barriers and mitigate isolation among vulnerable populations. Leveraging his background in software development and agentic AI, he actively seeks to modernize primary care systems, seamlessly combining data-driven technological solutions with empathetic, patient-centered advocacy.
